Physical and mental health are connected. By learning how to achieve a healthy heart rhythm, you can shift into a state of balance for your inner self. The Center for Integrated Care is offering biofeedback sessions to help you monitor your heart rhythm. Following biofeedback training, you can expect to experience reduced stress, improved sleep, restored energy, balanced emotions, and increased focus.
What is Biofeedback?
Biofeedback involves the use of painless sensors to measure your breathing and heart rate. The program will provide recommendations on how to improve these bodily functions via simple computer games and on-screen prompts. With practice, you can implement these skills without accessing biofeedback equipment.
What conditions can Biofeedback treat?
The goal of biofeedback is to achieve physiological coherence characterized by increased harmony between 1) our mind, 2) our emotions, and 3) our body. Biofeedback can help with mental health conditions, including:
-Anxiety
-Depression
-PTSD
-Attention difficulties
-Academic performance
-Sleep problems
-Stress
Biofeedback can also help with physical health conditions, including:
-Hypertension
-Diabetes
-Headaches
-Chronic pain
How does it work?
During a biofeedback session, your provider will help you place a sensor on your earlobe to monitor your breathing and heart rate. You will be able to select a program on-screen to help facilitate slowing these bodily functions. As you try on-screen suggestions, you can see how it affects your results in real time.

The Center for Integrated Care is proud to announce launching groups for transitional care. Our group services are not meant to replace traditional group therapy, but they can help build a supportive community and provide additional skills to navigate daily challenges or stressors as you get connected with with long term services. Getting connected to the right community providers can take time, and for many students, groups can help bridge the gap in services as you transition to longer-term and/or more specialized care.
