The Center for Integrated Care is excited to launch the R.A.M.P. (Resource Allocation Motivates Persistence) initiative this fall and it is just one of the many innovative approaches Charlotte’s Health and Wellbeing Unit will be utilizing to encourage holistic wellness in the academic success of our students.

R.A.M.P. is being funded by the UNC System’s Resiliency Grant and it represents one of the state’s cutting edge advancements towards improving the mental health and wellbeing of students, such that North Carolina students experience wellness and vigor, not only during their academic career but also upon their matriculation. R.A.M.P. intends to support students, particularly those that are navigating barriers accessing wellness services and resources on campus and in the community. The overarching goal is to engage students in help-seeking, utilizing a proactive approach rather than the reactive frameworks that have typically been relied on.

During this inaugural year, the R.A.M.P. initiative aims to increase access to resources and utilization of on-campus resources among four particular student populations: 1). the in-residence first-year student community of Phase XVI, 2). the broader in-residence student population of South Village, specifically those that benefit from resilience skill-building, 3). those that are managing neurodivergent challenges or identify within this community, and 4). the students that identify as racially and ethnically diverse, with an emphasis on those in South Village. This initiative offers both direct care and outreach services and can be characterized with the following framework.
