About our Founder
Director Leigh Norwood founded the Center for Integrated Care in July 2022. Affectionately referred to as the CIC, the Center for Integrated Care is founded on the principles and values of one of the most dynamic helping professions in the world…..social work!!!
Director Norwood contributed massively to the case management infrastructure of the university, leveraging her 18+ years of experience in the field (including work in acute trauma response, managed care, and intensive community-based program administration) to more strategically examine gaps in services as they exist in collegiate health and wellbeing environments. She worked diligently with other dedicated Niner Nation professionals towards eliminating health disparities and promoting the wellbeing of even our most marginalized student groups. Recognizing the barriers for health service access that face many underserved student groups, Director Norwood was a passionate proponent of wellness centered programming and outreach that “meets students where they are.” Her deep commitment to cross-collaboration and nurturing campus relationships, as both an administrator and a practitioner, remains integral to the operations of the CIC.
After spearheading efforts to launch the Center for Integrated Care, Director Norwood transitioned to serving in an executive health and wellbeing role at Michigan State University. The CIC is profoundly grateful for everything that she contributed to the Charlotte community.
